Commercial Electrician (JIB Gold Card Holder)
We are seeking time-served Commercial Electricians to join our team, working on a variety of commercial and industrial projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electrical systems in accordance with current wiring regulations and health & safety standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within commercial and industrial environments.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, scope of works, and specifications.
- Install containment systems including trunking, conduit, and traywork.
- First and second fix wiring, power distribution, and lighting systems.
- Undertake inspection, testing, and fault-finding in line with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and site-specific requirements.
- Work both independently and as part of a team on planned and reactive tasks.
- Liaise with site supervisors, project managers, and clients to ensure works are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Complete all necessary documentation, including test certificates and reports.
Required Experience & Skills
- Fully time-served electrician with proven experience in commercial/industrial installations.
- Strong knowledge of current electrical regulations (18th Edition).
- Competent in electrical testing, fault finding, and remedial works.
- Ability to work safely under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills with clients, colleagues, and site teams.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
Essential Qualifications
- JIB Gold Card (Approved Electrician status).
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent time-served apprenticeship).
- City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection & Testing (preferred).
